St. Pauls

Wanted to post this lovely picture up here...

St. Pauls

Thought it was a nice idea - and from a distance it really does look a bit like St Paul's.

Anyway - I also went and looked a all those white boxes in the Tate Modern...

Made me want to climb.

Appreciating art...

Repointing...

OK - so this weekend I learnt how to repoint brickwork.
Hopefully now my roof will stop leaking.

If anyone else needs their chimney stacks fixed why not drop me a line - I'm very competitive.

I'll post some pictures of my handiwork at some point soon

Eagle and Child

LOTR-tastic - went to Oxford on Sunday, and was given an enjoyable walking / drinking tour of the place by a friend. Took in several taverns - none more exciting than the aforementioned Eagle and Child, watering hole of choice a few moons ago for a couple of my more favourite authors - CS Lewis, and, of course, the man himself, JRR Tolkien.

The Eagle and Child

But don't take my word for it - here are some trusty internet sources waxing lyrical about the place:

If I remember rightly I drank Brakspear - which is very nice.

Christmas Hats...

Christmas hats are almost universally worn during the winter months in Britain. They were invented in 1856 by the Earl of Christmas, who, whilst playing bridge one evening realised his head was cold.

The clever thing whipped up an impromptu hat out of his paper napkin and the popular headpiece was born.

As you can see from this picture the christmas, or party, hat, is now a popular interior head warmer during the winter months...

Jake Gyllenhaal and Me

Someone told me today that I look like Jake Gyllenhaal in that film about cowboys...

Not entirely convinced - its a bit like saying everone with burnage looks the same...

Suppose they've got a point...

Woop!

As you can see my banner attempts have gone slightly better and I've been monkeying with some of the other stuff as well.

Fanfare

Well - this is certainly a lot more flash than my last website - (which you can find over here: spacmonster.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/) and really the only reasons i have one is to put stuff in that can't be covered on my Flickr stream (over here: www.flickr.com/photos/spacmonster/) and so i can practise my fledgling coding skills by doodling with html on the template - today i learnt how to change the colours of all kinds of stuff!

I have tried to re-html the top of this site to get my monster in but i basically messed it up at the first attempt and ended up looking a bit foolish so you'll have to settle for this picture for now - i will eventually get this up as a banner I'm sure...

That's all for now.
